Licensed Mental Health Counselor
National Certified Counselor
Thank you for visiting my site. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida (License #MH12737) and a National Certified Counselor (#632984). I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. I additionaly received my Masters of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida.
Why I became a counselor is that I truly love working with individuals and couples in helping them live the best life that they can. We all want to be “happy.” But, what does “happy” mean? Does it mean that bad things never happen? Well, of course not. But we have the choice in how we allow these negative events to truly affect us. Pain is inevitable . . . suffering is optional.
I also love helping individuals re-write the story of who they think they are. Let’s face it, we all have our story. I know that I did… We carry that story around and allow it to influence our choices and relationships in life. The story that we carry around about ourselves and tell to ourselves is not true. However, since that is the only story we have known, we believe it to be true. Together, we can write the real and true story of who you are, which will, believe it or not, help in your relationships and choices in life.
I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with relationship problems, feelings of being overwhelmed, career, family matters, feelings of shame and unworthiness, anxiety/stress, depression and life transitions.
I work with couples with regard to communication issues, time management and relationship break-downs. I have received training in Gottman Level 1, which is a researched based approach in couples counseling. Additionally, I am an approved premarital counseling provider for Orange County and provide a premarital counseling package which focuses on relationship foundation, communication, family of origin and future marriage goals.
I am also EMDR trained. Check out the EMDR page for more information.
I utilize numerous approaches when doing therapy in order to meet each client's needs. I believe that the relationship between the counselor and the client is very important. I feel that real change can begin in an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. That is why I aim to create a safe environment where clients feel validated and understood.
I am a part of the team of great counselors at the Corrine Drive Counseling Center. We are conveniently located 1/4 mile from Baldwin Park and just a few miles from Winter Park and Downtown Orlando.
I am truly excited to work with you in recognizing the choices that you have in life. Thanks for stopping by! I am looking forward to working with you!
